Project Architect at RISE Design Studio

London | Full-time | Permanent

Good architecture doesn't need to shout. It works through detailing that's been thought about, buildings that are careful with energy and materials, and spaces that feel right to be in. That's the work we do at RISE, and we're looking for a Project Architect to help us do more of it.

Architect reviewing architectural drawings with a client in a London design studio, while team members observe nearby, discussing home renovation and extension plans using digital design software.

The role

You'll work across residential, hospitality and educational projects in London, Ireland and Spain, from the first sketch through to the final detail on site. You'll lead projects at every stage: concept design, technical detailing, client relationships and construction. And you'll work closely with the directors and our collaborators in a small, design-led studio where sustainability isn't a separate department, it's where the design starts.

It's a role for someone who cares about the process as much as the result, and who can keep a clear head through the messy middle of a project, for the team and the client alike.

What we're looking for

We're less interested in buzzwords than in someone who genuinely cares about the work. You might be a good fit if:

  • You're RIBA Part 3 qualified, with five or more years' post-registration experience in the UK.
  • You've led projects from early concept through to completion on site.
  • You're as comfortable managing consultants and teams as you are detailing a junction.
  • You're fluent in ArchiCAD (intermediate or higher), and ideally familiar with Twinmotion, Enscape or Lumion.
  • You know your way around the Adobe Suite and the usual tools.
  • You treat sustainability as a way of thinking rather than an add-on.
  • You enjoy collaboration, curiosity and a bit of healthy challenge.

A real interest in materials, fabrication, and bridging the digital and the handmade is a bonus.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary, reviewed regularly.
  • Time off over Christmas, because rest matters.
  • A company pension scheme.
  • A studio culture that values learning and creativity.
  • Real scope for long-term growth.
  • Frequent team outings, from cultural events to mountain hikes.
  • Hybrid working, after probation.

How to apply

Send a short cover letter, your CV and a sample portfolio to careers@risedesignstudio.co.uk.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be based in London. No agencies, please.

RISE Design Studio is an equal opportunities employer. We think the best design comes from a mix of minds and experiences, so if you've taken an unconventional route into architecture, we'd be glad to hear from you.
